Havenwood’s first 87 homes garner Flower Mound council approval

A subdivision site plan for Havenwood, an over 200-home development in west Flower Mound, has received approval.

Flower Mound Town Council unanimously approved a subdivision site plan and tree removal permits for the first 87 homes in Havenwood during the March 2 meeting.

The overview: Toll Brothers is set to develop Havenwood, which is a 447-acre residential development. The subdivision site plan covers the first phase that will include 87 homes, according to town documents.

The development is located south of Cross Timbers Road and is bordered by Shiloh Road to the west and Scenic Drive to the east. Havenwood was initially approved in May 2024, and it will be built out in four phases.

Zooming in: Additionally, the developer will be required to establish the limits of the Federal Emergency Management Agency and town floodplains, respectively, for the full development when conducting the study for the first phase.

AutoZone opens second Flower Mound location

A new AutoZone opened on Flower Mound Road in early March, a company representative said.

What they offer: The business sells auto parts including wipers, brake pads, engine oil and batteries, according to its website. The store also provides free vehicle battery testing and a tool loan program where a customer can get a tool for 90 days and return it within the window for a full refund.

One more thing: The new location is the second AutoZone in Flower Mound with the other being located off of Justin Road.

Children’s Health StarCenter Multisport-Northlake to celebrate grand opening with free activities

The $45 million Children’s Health StarCenter Multisport-Northlake will open at the end of March.

What’s happening? The facility and the town each posted on social media about the upcoming grand opening event, which will be held from 4-9 p.m.

There will be public skating, an open gym for basketball and volleyball, hockey showcases for the Victory Green Girls Hockey League and a high school hockey game between Keller High School and Northwest High School.

In addition, Dallas Pulse volleyball players and former Dallas Stars players will be on site to sign autographs.

According to previous reporting, the 225,000-square-foot indoor facility will have two National Hockey League regulation sheets of ice and eight basketball courts that can be converted into 16 volleyball courts.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held April 15, 2024, according to previous reporting.
