Q&A: Meet the Republican candidates for Comal County Judge

Three Republican candidates filed to face off in the March 3 primaries for Comal County Judge, according to the Texas Secretary of State website.

The list includes local business owner Deb Hindman, firefighter Kayne Parrish and former Comal County Tax Assessor-Collector Kristen H. Hoyt, who stepped down from her seat to pursue the judge’s position.

No Democratic candidates filed for Comal County judge.

Japanese motorcycle safety brand parks headquarters in New Braunfels

Japanese-based helmet and safety brand—OGK Kabuto—has opened its headquarters for North and South America in New Braunfels.

The details: Kabuto Americas opened at 1913 Post Road, Ste. 225 in November. The new location serves as the North and South America headquarters for OGK Kabuto, said Scott Holbrooks, director of Kabuto Americas.

"Kabuto Americas was established to bring this legacy of Japanese excellence directly to riders in the Western Hemisphere," Holbrooks said.

The company supports both direct sales and dealer distribution across the Americas, bringing Japanese-engineered safety, performance and design to riders for more than 40 years.

The brand also sells helmets and other motorcycle and bicycle safety equipment and apparel.
