Aalo Atomics, a nuclear engineering company based in Austin, plans to expand its advanced manufacturing operations to Georgetown, according to a filing with the Department of Licensing and Regulation.
About the project: The project will renovate an existing 204,350-square-foot one-story warehouse to provide lab, machine shop and production floor space for the company.
The $25 million project is estimated to take place between Nov. 15, 2026, and Jan. 30, 2028.
About the company: Founded in 2023, Aalo Atomics designs and builds small, factory-made nuclear power plants primarily intended to power AI data centers, according to its website.
Traditional nuclear plants are much larger and can take a decade to construct, while Aalo builds compact reactors in a factory and ships them to where power is needed.
