Legacy Drive and Stonebrook Parkway widening: Portions of Legacy Drive and Stonebrook Parkway will be widened and reconstructed. The project spans Legacy Drive from Lebanon Road to Stonebrook Parkway and along Stonebrook from Legacy to 4th Army Drive. 

Hillcrest Road improvements: Hillcrest Road will be updated from SH 121 to Main Street. Project details are not yet available.

Teel Parkway widening: Teel Parkway is being widened from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane roadway. The project spans from Stafford Middle School to Olive Branch Road.

Frisco-based Public Storage has acquired National Storage Affiliates Trust, expanding the company’s storage network. 

What it means: With the acquisition, Public Storage now operates more than 4,500 self-storage properties totaling 327 million square feet of rentable space across the U.S., including the 1,061 facilities in 37 states acquired from National Storage Affiliates, the release states.

What they’re saying: Public Storage CEO Tom Boyle said the National Storage Affiliates acquisition demonstrates “the company’s focus on disciplined and accelerated investment activity that grows earnings and cash flow per share for our shareholders.”

“We are thrilled to officially welcome NSA’s customers and team members to Public Storage and the industry’s leading platform,” Boyle said in the release. “We thank National Storage Affiliates for their significant efforts as we worked through this important transaction together.”

RaceTrac is spending nearly $20 million to remodel 30 stores in North Texas, according to a company news release.

The specifics: The remodeled stores began reopening in May and will continue to reopen through the end of the year. Remodels include the following updates:

• A full grab-and-go pizza bar

• A redesigned coffee area

• A refreshed Swirl World frozen yogurt bar

• Updated interior graphics, signage, paint and décor throughout

• Reorganized shelving

Five locations in Plano, four in Frisco, two in Fort Worth and one each in Allen, Denton and McKinney are among the RaceTracs set for a remodel.

American Express will expand its Centurion Lounge at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport.

The $35 million project, according to a state filing, will expand and renovate the lounge into a neighboring space near Gate D12 at Terminal D at DFW Airport.

The details: The expansion will make the lounge nearly 50% larger, adding more seating, a new dining area, a walk-up ice cream window and a second full-service bar, according to a news release.

The expected opening will be in 2027, according to a news release. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation filings show an estimated completion date for the 18,000-square-foot project of Nov. 19, 2027.

“American Express has long been at the forefront of the airport lounge experience, and we continue to build on that legacy and raise the bar as we grow our network,” said Audrey Hendley, American Express Travel president.

3400 at Cityline renovation
A corporate office space at 3400 at Cityline, an office park, will undergo about $12 million in renovations, according to TDLR documents. The documents state the project will cover about 36,000 square feet and cost $12 million.
