Frisco City Council approves Trader Joe’s mixed-use district

The city of Frisco is set to get its first Trader Joe’s grocery store as part of a proposed mixed-use development.

The details: The 9.4-acre Trader Joe's-anchored mixed-use development will be located at the southwest corner of Majestic Gardens Drive and Main Street, featuring a 158-unit senior living facility. Frisco’s Planning and Zoning Commission approved the development in July, and the development was tabled by the Frisco City Council in August.

What else: The Trader Joe's store and senior living facility will be constructed in a single phase, according to city documents. The senior living facility cannot open until Trader Joe’s opens.

Johnston & Murphy plans new store for Stonebriar Centre

A new Johnston & Murphy storefront is coming to Frisco’s Stonebriar Centre next year, according to documents filed with TDLR.

What to know: A retail space in Stonebriar Centre will undergo a roughly $471,200 renovation to accommodate a new Johnston & Murphy store. Construction to convert the 1,546-square-foot space is expected to start March 15, 2027 and finish by April 26, 2027, according to the filing.

Johnston & Murphy currently operates locations at Dallas-Fort Worth Airport, Tanger Outlets Fort Worth, Galleria, Northpark and Allen Premium Outlets.

Collin County voters will choose between two candidates for the Collin County Clerk seat, which will be on the ballot for the Nov. 3 election.

Providence Church in Frisco has purchased a 27-acre site for a new church in Frisco, according to its website. The 61,645-square-foot facility will be constructed along Panther Creek Parkway, according to the TDLR filing.
