Richland Park Apartments is on track to add five units and a playground after Richardson’s City Plan Commission unanimously recommended approval for rezoning Jan. 5.

The details: The apartment complex, located at 951 Abrams Road, proposed to add an additional five apartment units in underused areas in the leasing and community building. The new units would replace the indoor sports room, a maintenance storage room and portions of the clubhouse on the second, third and fourth floors.

What else: The new proposed zoning requires a minimum amount of recreational amenities to be provided on-site. The complex is home to many families with children, architect Eddie Cervantes said, so Richland Park plans to add a second playground in an open area near the pool in order to continue meeting those requirements after the replacement of the indoor sports room.

Salad and Go will close all of its locations in Texas and Oklahoma on Jan. 11, the company confirmed on social media.

The specifics: Salad and Go is a drive-thru chain offering salads, wraps and soups. The company is closing all 25 of its remaining Texas locations, including one in Richardson.

The context: Salad and Go already closed multiple Texas stores in September, including all of their locations in Houston and San Antonio.

Diptyque is set to open a new location in Plano’s Legacy West, according to the shopping center’s website.

What you need to know: The business is opening in late 2026, according to signage currently in front of the storefront.

The specifics: The France-based company sells candles, perfumes, scented skin care products and a variety of home decorations. Diptyque has three existing Texas locations in Dallas, Austin and Houston.
