Argyle ISD trustees set $49.3M guaranteed maximum price for Elementary School No. 5

The Argyle ISD board of trustees unanimously approved a guaranteed maximum price for Elementary School No. 5 at a Sept. 16 meeting.

The project will not exceed $49.32 million, with funding coming from 2022 and 2025 bond funds, district documents state.

A closer look: The elementary school will be 104,685 square feet with two stories, 61 classrooms and the capacity for 850 students, according to previous reporting. It is expected to open for the 2027-28 school year and will be located on the same property as the AISD middle school currently under construction.

This guaranteed maximum price includes an allowance of around $2.5 million for FM 407 improvements, specifically a turn lane and stoplight for campus access, AISD Construction Manager Jeff Koehn said.

“We believe it’s absolutely necessary that we create the turn lane and have the stoplight,” Koehn said.
