The Keller, Roanoke and north Fort Worth areas have seen several updates to the local hospital systems in or near the cities, including new programs and build-outs.

Here are three updates from local hospitals in the area.

Baylor Scott & White Emergency Hospital Champions Circle: Baylor Scott & White is opening a $15 million emergency room facility near Texas Motor Speedway. Construction already started on the 18,250-square-foot facility along SH 114.

Medical City Alliance: The north Fort Worth hospital broke ground on its new emergency room expansion in March, which will add eight ER beds and include redesigned ambulance bays that will provide more efficiency for first responders, according to previous reporting.

  • 3101 N. Tarrant Parkway, Fort Worth

Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital Alliance: This hospital now offers a minimally invasive procedure for patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia, or an enlarged prostate, according to previous reporting.

Eagle Tavern provides gathering spot for drinks, food in Keller

Eagle Tavern, a new sports bar in Keller, opened June 8.

What’s on the menu: The menu consists of burgers, flatbreads, salads, shrimp and wings, each covered in a variety of sauces or dry rubs. Many of the appetizers will be shareable, such as chips and dip, nachos, soft pretzel bites, fried pickles and pita and tzatziki, said Kelly Jackson, the restaurant's general manager.

What else? The business will be open from 11 a.m. to 2 a.m. daily.

Eagle Tavern is the sister restaurant of The Goat Tavern in Roanoke, according to previous reporting. It moved into a space that was formerly occupied by Baja Cantina.

Upcoming projects

1. US 75 Green Ribbon project

Project: The work will add enhancements to landscaping, erosion control, irrigation and new decorative rock to key intersections along the US 75 corridor in Allen, including Stacy Road, McDermott Drive and Bethany Drive.

Update: Texas Department of Transportation officials authorized advertising the construction project in early June. Officials expect to award the construction project by October.

  • Timeline: November 2026–March 2027
  • Cost: $1.3 million
  • Funding sources: TxDOT, city of Allen

Ongoing projects

2. Coit Road phase 1 widening

Project: Coit Road will be widened from a four-lane roadway to a six-lane concrete roadway from First Street to Prosper Trail. The project includes the roadway, curbs, underground work and drainage.

Update: Construction is roughly two-thirds complete. Paving was scheduled to begin in early June but has been delayed due to heavy rain.

  • Cost: $23.64 million

5 orthopedic practices to merge this fall in Dallas-Fort Worth area

All-Star Orthopaedics, AOA Orthopedic Specialists, North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center, Orthopedic Associates and OrthoTexas Orthopedic & Sports Medicine announced plans to unite and operate collectively as OrthoTexas beginning in November.

The transition will create an integrated orthopedic and spine organization spanning more than 70 physicians and 22 locations across the Dallas-Fort Worth region, according to a news release.

Quote of note: “Coming together as one group allows us to create a more seamless experience for patients and preserves the culture and clinical autonomy that made each practice successful,” said Dr. Michael Briseño, chairman of OrthoTexas and provider at North Texas Orthopedics & Spine Center. “By bringing multiple practices into a single organization, we can make orthopedic and spine care more connected, more accessible and easier to navigate.”

The details: All-Star Orthopaedics opened in 1997 and partners with Carroll ISD and the Alliance Rugby club, according to its website. The business has locations in Fort Worth, Southlake, Flower Mound and Irving.
