311-unit multifamily project to break ground at The Farm in Allen

Atlanta-based multifamily development and construction firm Wood Partners is bringing Alta Preserve, a 311-unit multifamily community, to The Farm, a 135-acre mixed-use development located along SH 121.

The specifics: The four-story Class-A development will include one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, according to the release. Alta Preserve will feature amenities such as an indoor and outdoor skydeck, a resort-style pool, a golf simulator, a dry sauna, a dog park and dog wash station, and more, per the release.

Alta Preserve is part of the third phase of Wood Partners' multifamily construction at The Farm. The firm also developed Alta at The Farm, which debuted in 2023, and completed Alta Magnolia last year, the release states.

“We look forward to continuing to grow at The Farm with more high quality residential development,” JaRyCo Development President Bruce Heller said of the Alta Preserve project in an email.

Looking ahead: Construction of the community is expected to be complete in the second quarter of 2027, per the release.

India Metro Hypermarket to debut specialty grocery store in Allen

India Metro Hypermarket is opening an Allen location this month, a company representative said.

The details: The specialty grocery store offers ingredients and spices essential to Indian and Asian cuisines, its website states. India Metro Hypermarket also has locations in McKinney, Little Elm, California and Washington, per its website.

    Gen Korean BBQ to host grand opening with free meals for first 100 guests

    Amanda Vogle, the restaurant's owner, said the first 100 people will eat free March 14. The next 50 people will get 50% off, and the 20 people who dine in after that will get 20% off.

    Gen Korean BBQ House allows guests to cook their own meats, such as beef, pork or chicken, in a built-in tabletop grill. The Denton restaurant is the only Gen Korean BBQ House in North Texas to have fresh sushi on the menu.

    The restaurant officially opened March 3.

    Late-night ice cream shop, The Scoop N Scootery, celebrates opening of first Texas location

    The Scoop N Scootery had a soft opening March 11 in preparation for the grand opening of its first Texas location in Fort Worth.

    The late-night ice cream shop offers fully loaded ice cream sundaes with pastry cores.
