Learn about primary election polling locations in Boerne, Fair Oaks Ranch

Early voting is underway for the March 3 primary elections, allowing voters to choose the candidates moving forward to the November general election. While Boerne is in Kendall County and only has one precinct, Fair Oaks Ranch residents are split between three counties, meaning voters will have to choose a location based on their county of residence.

What you need to know: In Kendall County, the courthouse annex is the only early voting location. The polling location is open on:

  • Feb. 17-20: 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Feb. 21, 23-27: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Feb. 22: 9 a.m.-3 p.m.

Fair Oaks Ranch residents in Bexar County can use the Fair Oaks Ranch Police Department as a polling location.

Fair Oaks Ranch residents living in Comal County have two polling locations in Bulverde, at the Mammen Family Public Library and the Tax Assessor-Collector's office. The polling locations will be open on:
  • Feb. 17-20: 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
  • Feb. 21, 23-27: 7 a.m.-7 p.m.
  • Feb. 22: noon-6 p.m.

The Sanctuary for the Vintage Soul expands, renovates store in downtown Boerne

A locally owned, faith-based goods, trinkets and art supplies shop is expanding its storefront along the Hill Country Mile.

What we know: The Sanctuary for the Vintage Soul—owned by local Joyce Baker—is expanding to add more faith-based products such as books and gifts, according to a Feb. 5 Facebook post.

The store's front entrance will be closed “for a few weeks” during the renovation, the post states. Patrons are being asked to use the store’s new side entrance off of Rosewood Ave.

What they offer: The Sanctuary sells a wide variety of vintage furniture, cabinetry, dining sets and antique collectibles, according to previous reporting from Community Impact.

Urban Bird Hot Chicken to open location at The Rim in San Antonio

Another fried chicken restaurant is on the way to North San Antonio.

Latest update: Urban Bird Hot Chicken is planning to open a new location within The Rim at 17603 La Cantera Parkway, Ste. 119, according to a permit filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. The business also has the restaurant listed on its website.

This will be Urban Bird Hot Chicken's second location in the greater San Antonio area. According to previous reporting from Community Impact, an Urban Bird Hot Chicken location opened in the Stone Oak area back in September—and is also planning a third location off of Potranco Road on the West Side of San Antonio.

On the menu: With flavors ranging from mild to spicy, Urban Bird Hot Chicken serves fried chicken tenders, sliders, desserts and more.
