Nighttime closures are planned on and around US 75 from July 23-26 while an arch is installed on the Silver Line bridge over the highway. Crews will install a 400-foot decorative steel arch on the north side of the highway. An arch on the south side was installed earlier this summer as part of Dallas Area Rapid Transit’s Silver Line bridge.

The details: The installation will take place overnight from July 23-26, so road closures will only be in effect at night. Silver Line rail service between Plano’s Shiloh Road Station and UTD Station will also be suspended overnight from July 24-26 as the trains cannot operate beneath the active construction zone.

The big picture: Once complete, the arches will serve as a “visual gateway” into Richardson, mobility program manager Daniel Herrig said at a council meeting.

Tayta Peruvian Restaurant is now open in Richardson. Tayta is a family business serving authentic Peruvian food, owner Diego Florez said in an email.

The details: Menu highlights include ceviche, made according to a recipe Florez learned while traveling the Peruvian coast, and pollo a la brasa, roasted chicken cooked in an oven Florez said he brought to the restaurant from Peru.

“We designed everything so that every customer takes a little piece of Peru with them,” Florez said.

• 930 E. Campbell Road, Richardson

A portion of Legacy Trail at Ohio Drive and Wildbriar Drive will be reopening July 22.

Part of the trail has been closed since June 29 for a main pipeline replacement project from the North Texas Municipal Water District.

The gist: The district is working on a $10.8 million project to replace roughly 12,500 linear feet of 30-inch and 36-inch force main pipelines from Preston Road Lift Station to about 1,500 feet west of Coit Road.

The background: NTMWD Communications Manager Kathleen Vaught said construction for the pipe replacement project started last year and is expected to be completed later this fall. Plano City Council approved easements for the project in April 2024.

1. Burney Lane/Midway Road rehabilitation
Project: The work will cover the rehabilitation of around 2,950 linear feet of Burney Lane/Midway Road from the intersection of Lonesome Dove Road in Southlake until Meadowmere Lane in Grapevine, according to city documents.
Update: Grapevine City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County for the project during a July 7 meeting.
