Tech company Celestica expanding Richardson footprint to 1 million square feet

Tech company Celestica is expanding its footprint to approximately 1 million square feet in Richardson and creating “nearly 2,300 jobs” in the process, the city announced in a news release.

The gist: The company is renewing its lease at two existing buildings and moving into a new lease at 343,000-square-foot space at 2801 Telecom Parkway. The lease will last through 2036.

Quote of note: “I think this just demonstrates the success that they've had here working with the city, finding the talent that they need and growing their business,” City Manager Don Magner said.

Port Coffee Co coming soon to Richardson

Port Coffee Co is set to open a new location in Richardson, according to a social media announcement.

The details: The specialty coffee shop serves Yemeni-inspired drinks, including lattes, roast coffee and matcha, as well as pastries, smoothies and refreshers. Port Coffee Co also has a location in Irving.

North Texas Fair & Rodeo announces 2026 music lineup

The music lineup for the 98th annual North Texas Fair & Rodeo was announced June 16. The 10-day event will take place Aug. 21-30.

The details: Country act Diamond Rio will be one of the headliners during the fair. The band has been active since 1984, and their hits include "Meet in the Middle" and "How Your Love Makes Me Feel."

Other headlining acts include country artist Kody West, who is from North Texas, and country musician Chris Cagle.

There will be two stages set up each night: one will have the headlining acts and the other stage will have live music starting at 6 p.m.

What else? The fair is hosted by the nonprofit North Texas State Fair Association at the fairgrounds on Carroll Boulevard in Denton. All generated revenue is funneled directly back into local youth scholarships, agricultural programs and community facilities, according to its website.

The event has professional and youth rodeos, livestock and agricultural shows, carnival rides, food and beverage vendors. Tickets are now available on its website.
