WilCo, Georgetown offices to close for Thanksgiving

Most Williamson County and Georgetown offices and facilities will be closed Nov. 27 and Nov. 28 for the Thanksgiving holiday.

What residents should know: Community members will not have access to county and city administrative buildings and services during the closure, including:

  • All Williamson County offices, including tax offices and the Parks and Recreation Administration
  • Georgetown City Hall
  • Georgetown Council and Courts Building, including the municipal court
  • Georgetown Municipal Complex, including askGTX and Customer Care call centers
  • Georgetown Parks and Recreation Administration
  • Georgetown Planning Department
  • Georgetown Public Safety offices

Emergency services and law enforcement operations will continue.

The following recreational facilities will also be closed:
  • Georgetown Art Center
  • Grace Heritage Center
  • Georgetown Public Library
  • Georgetown Recreation Center
  • Georgetown Tennis Center

Some facilities will close on Thanksgiving and reopen Nov. 28, including the Georgetown Executive Airport, Garey Park, Georgetown Visitors Center and the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter.

Something to note: Texas Disposal Systems customers in Georgetown will not receive trash pickup services on Thanksgiving day.

Twin Liquors now open in Parmer Ranch Marketplace

Twin Liquors opened a location in the Parmer Ranch Marketplace shopping center in late October.

What they offer: The store carries a variety of wine, spirits, beer, accessories and snacks.

About the business: Founded in Austin in 1937, the family-owned business has since expanded to more than 100 stores throughout the state.

The Parmer Ranch location marks the company's fourth store in Georgetown.

Organizations providing free Thanksgiving meals in the Austin area

Nonprofit organizations and churches will host free Thanksgiving meals across the Austin area, including events in Dripping Springs, Bastrop, Leander, Cedar Park, Georgetown and more. Volunteers are also encouraged to get involved by reaching out to organizations directly. 

United Way for Greater Austin 
United Way for Greater Austin will host its annual H-E-B Feast of Sharing, providing the community with turkey and trimmings.
