Plano residents will now have access to the city’s latest transportation service, Via.

The gist: Via will provide an initial six-month transportation service to operate within city limits and up to a 1.5-mile buffer past city boundaries according to city documents.

The details: The 65+ program will launch May 4 and go from curb to curb with operating hours from 6:30 a.m.-10 p.m., seven days a week, Howard said.

The Legacy West program will have two routes circulating between  The Shops at Legacy, Legacy West and the corporate campuses in the area.

Ace Pickleball opened April 11 in Plano, a company representative said.

The sports industry business, which was founded in 2022 and is headquartered in Georgia, offers a member-focused approach and all-inclusive pricing, the company website states.

Texas Christian University is renovating Ed Laundrette Hall with mechanical, electrical and plumbing upgrades; a new theater; audiovisual and technology upgrades; and acoustics, finishes and architectural updates.

American Express Centurion Lounge expansion at DFW Airport
American Express is renovating and expanding an existing lounge at the DFW Airport. The renovations will come with more seating, a new dining area and walk-up ice cream. 

Texas Health Dallas Hamon Tower renovations
Texas Health Resources is renovating the fifth floor of Hamon Tower in Dallas to include 30 medical-surgical beds and 30 intermediate beds.

Richardson City Council will not pursue a rezoning of Amazon’s drone delivery facility, citing legal risks, City Manager Don Magner said.

The gist: Council met in an executive session on April 6 to receive legal advice on removing Amazon’s zoning entitlements at its Richardson facility following months of resident complaints about the noise and frequency of the company’s new delivery drones. Magner said council determined the facility’s zoning to be valid and that pursuing rezoning would come with significant legal risks.

How we got here: Council approved a zoning change in June 2025 to allow Amazon to offer drone deliveries within a 7.5-mile radius of its Richardson facility on Research Drive.

The drone program launched in early December, and since the launch, residents who live near the Amazon facility have shared concerns about the noise, frequency and height of the drones that fly over their houses every day. Amazon introduced changes to its drone delivery program in February.
