Eldorado Parkway reconstruction: See updates for 6 transportation projects in McKinney

Work continues on reconstructing portions of Eldorado Parkway between Ridge Road and US 75, according to city officials.

Crews are expected to finish Eldorado Parkway later this spring before moving onto Virginia Parkway as part of a project that started in 2025. Check out details below on the project and five others in McKinney that are ongoing or planned to start soon.

This list is not comprehensive. Residents can learn more about additional projects through McKinney's Capital Improvement Program website which tracks road projects in the city.

1. Eldorado Parkway and Virginia Parkway rehabilitation
Project: Reconstruction of failing concrete panels and broken curbs along Eldorado Parkway between Ridge Road and US 75, and Virginia Parkway between Stonebridge Drive and US 75.
Update: Work continues on Eldorado Parkway. Construction crews are beginning work on the last remaining section of Eldorado Parkway between Country Club Drive and US 75. Construction on Eldorado is

The Samaritan Inn officials break ground on new pet kennel in McKinney

The Samaritan Inn CEO Jill Sciglian welcomed two- and four-legged guests to a Feb. 26 groundbreaking event for a pet kennel at their McKinney facility.

The new kennel will almost triple the capacity space of the existing on-site kennel, according to the nonprofit’s website.

The details: The 1,244-square-foot kennel, which will accommodate up to 28 pets—16 dogs and 12 cats—is slated for completion Oct. 1, Chief Development Officer Kellie Maynard said.

Milano Nail Spa opens 2nd McKinney location

Milano Nail Spa recently opened a location in McKinney Town Crossing, a business representative said. Another Milano Nail Salon, which opened approximately three years ago, is located on Hardin Boulevard.

The details: The beauty industry business offers manicures, pedicures, brow and lash services, massages and more, according to the business website.

6 small businesses debut East McKinney shops in The Silos at Tupps Brewery

Visitors to Tupps Brewery can now shop from six small businesses located at the East McKinney property.

The Silos at Tupps Brewery debuted during a March 7 grand opening event. The shops, which are housed in converted grain bins, are all small businesses that are part of the brewery’s Build-Your-Own-Business program.

Diving in deeper: The program began from an idea Tupps Brewery founder Keith Lewis had to support small businesses amid rising costs for establishing a brick-and-mortar location, said Katie Baker, who manages marketing and events for the brewery. The former grain silos were shipped to the McKinney brewery and installed to serve as storefront spaces for small businesses, she said.

Business hours vary for the shops located in The Silos at Tupps Brewery, which includes:

Retail pavilion at Omni PGA Frisco, office development in Southlake: See 5 of the latest permits filed in the DFW area

New retail space in Frisco and mixed-use development in Southlake are some of the many new North Texas projects filed recently with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. Here are five of the most expensive permits filed with TDLR in the past week.

1. O’Reilly Auto Parts warehouse shuttle system: An automated storage and retrieval shuttle system is under construction for a new O’Reilly Auto Parts warehouse in north Fort Worth, according to a recent TDLR filing. The shuttle system will include three separate rack structures and a mezzanine with a catwalk. Construction is estimated to take a little under two years.

2. Retail pavilion at Omni PGA Frisco Resort & Spa: A new retail pavilion will be constructed within an existing retail district at the Omni PGA resort and spa in Frisco, according to a recent TDLR filing. The resort had its grand opening in 2023, per previous reporting. The 15,200-square-foot development is estimated to take less than a year to complete.
