Frisco’s new on-demand public transportation option is now available, according to a May 5 city news release.
What’s happening?: The new GoZone microtransit service is available through a partnership between the city and the Denton County Transportation Authority. Frisco City Council approved a $15 million contract in April for the GoZone service that will run through at least 2029. DCTA’s board also approved the agreement with Frisco in March.
Cost to the city: Brian Moen, Frisco assistant director of transportation, said in March that the program will be funded through a mix of federal and local dollars.
How it works: The rideshare service will operate Monday through Friday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., per the release. Fare rides will be cashless and cost $3 to $5 per trip, depending on the distance.
