Two Step Farm adds 7 builders, new housing options in Phase 2

Two Step Farm is moving ahead with the second phase of its Montgomery County development, bringing seven builders, new housing styles and a direct connector to FM 1488.

The details: Oxland Group announced July 20 that it has started homesite sales for the 156-acre development as part of Phase 2. Homesites are expected to be delivered to builders beginning in December, with construction starting shortly afterward, according to a July 20 news release.

What we know: Homes in Phase 2 are anticipated to range from the mid-$300,000s to more than $1 million. 
The new developer lineup includes:

  • Autograph Homes
  • David Weekley Homes, offering patio homes
  • Drees Custom Homes, offering detached townhomes
  • McKinley Homes, offering townhomes
  • Partners In Building
  • Trilogy by Shea Homes, developing a 55-plus village
  • William David Homes, offering cottages and homes on 70- and 90-foot lots

Also of note: Construction is underway on the second phase of Two Step Boulevard, which will create a direct connection between Superior Road and FM 1488. The roadway is anticipated to open by the end of 2026.

Lonestar Family Health expands with new Magnolia Health Center

Lonestar Family Health has expanded its medical care work in Magnolia with the opening of the Magnolia Health Center—the sixth care facility in the area. 

What they offer: According to a July 20 news release, the new Magnolia Health Center will offer underserved, underinsured and uninsured patients primary care across multiple avenues, including but not limited to:

  • Family medicine
  • Women’s health 
  • Pediatrics
  • Geriatrics
  • Dentistry 

Over the past year, Lone Star has been breaking ground on new healthcare centers throughout the Greater Houston area. As previously reported, last June, Lone Star celebrated the opening of a new expansion project in Conroe. 

Something to know: The sixth new center serves as a milestone for the organization and the greater Magnolia community, said Karen Harwell, CEO of Lone Star Family Health Center. 

“As Magnolia continues to grow, we are proud to bring comprehensive primary medical and dental services closer to home, making it easier for patients and families to receive the care they need,” Harwell said.

Harris County Flood Control District hosting public meetings for countywide flood resilience plan

The Harris County Flood Control District is holding two open houses for the general public to hear updates on the Harris County Flood Resilience Plan, an initiative aimed at ensuring private and public resources are in place and available during flooding events.

The background: As previously reported by Community Impact, the flood resilience plan is being developed by multiple county departments to implement actionable initiatives that consider the well-being of communities facing the physical, social and economic hardships of flooding. The flood control district is holding two additional town halls for residents to weigh in on the plan:

Stay tuned: Following the open houses, the flood resilience plan will then be further refined and prepared for final release to residents, business owners and local governments. Individuals can also take an online survey, which will collect feedback and concerns on the plan.
