Nan and Co. luxury real estate firm opens Cypress office

Luxury real estate brokerage firm Nan and Co. officially opened a new office in the Cypress area according to an Oct. 9 news release.

The details: The new office marks the fifth location for Nan and Co. in the Greater Houston area; with other locations in The Woodlands, Galveston, Heights and Galleria areas. The new office will be led by Jenny Correa, and will provide guidance and brokerage services for high-end residential properties.

Quote of note: “Expanding into Cypress is especially meaningful for me personally, as it’s where I grew up,” Nancy Almodovar, co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Nan & Company Properties, said. “Beyond my personal connection, Cypress is a rapidly expanding community with tremendous opportunity, and we are thrilled to establish a presence there."

Cy-Fair real estate market remains steady as summer ends

The median home sales prices for the Cy-Fair area remained near or slightly below average compared to August 2024 data. However, the Cypress area in ZIP codes 77429 and 77433 saw the biggest increases in home sales prices, according to data from CB&A Realtors.

 
The details: The number of home sales remained steady across the area, with the most sales in 77433 and the biggest drop in home sales in 77070.

Diving in deeper: The number of days a home spent on the market also increased in 77070 by 50% and in 77065 by 70.4%, while remaining steady elsewhere.

Wesley Hunt announces run for US Senate, joining primary election

U.S. Rep. Wesley Hunt, R-Houston, announced Oct. 6 that he will be running to represent Texas in the U.S. Senate, joining the March 2026 Republican primary election.

The details: Hunt was the first person elected to represent U.S. Congressional District 38 in 2022. Hunt announced his candidacy for the U.S. Senate seat currently occupied by U.S. Sen. John Cornyn, R-Austin, who was first elected in 2002.

Next steps: Hunt will appear on the GOP primary ballot scheduled for March 3, 2026.

Mountain Mike's Pizza local franchise owners announced the opening of a second Cypress location in a Oct. 8 news release. The new store marks the third location in the Houston area.


Locally franchised and owned by Nadeem Rajani, Karim Rajani and Danish Faraz, the shop provides a variety of pizza offerings with dough made in-house according to the owners. The new location also has a 700-square-foot patio, a kid's arcade section and all-you-can-eat pizza buffet.

Queen Bee’s Tea Room brings classic British refinement and Southern hospitality to the Houston Heights through aesthetic decor and a curated selection of teas and pastries, according to the establishment’s social media.


The woman-owned, Texas-based business offers an afternoon tea experience with vintage teacups and inventive tea-infused creations.


The business will also offer dishes to pair with the teas. Co-owner Kristy Jhaver said the menu blends the finest ingredients to elevate customers' tea experiences, featuring items such as soups, salads and sandwiches.
