Grapevine City Council unanimously voted to keep the Convention and Visitors Bureau as the title sponsor of the Texas Women's Open for five more years at its Aug. 18 meeting.
The Convention and Visitors Bureau became the title sponsor of the event in 2024 when the golf tournament was renamed to the Destination Grapevine Texas Women’s Open and moved to the Grapevine Golf Course.
The cost: The city paid $75,000 annually for the first three years of the deal to remain the title sponsor for the event, a total of $225,000, per the agreement.
Over the next five years, the sponsorship fees will increase annually, according to city documents, to:
- $80,000 in 2027
- $82,500 in 2028
- $85,000 in 2029
- $87,500 in 2030
- $90,000 in 2031
Funding will come from the Convention and Visitors Bureau's incentives fund.
The impact: Paul W. McCallum, executive director of the Grapevine Convention and Visitors Bureau, presented a review of how the tournament has grown and benefited the city by bringing media publicity and visitors to local hotels, restaurants and stores.
