Clear Creek ISD’s board of trustees approved an interlocal agreement with the Harris County Department of Education, or HCDE, to participate in a federally funded after-school program, following board approval at its Feb. 23 meeting.
The program, part of the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers, or CCLC, initiative, provides after‑school and summer programming for the remainder of the 2025‑26 school year.
The details: Known statewide as Texas Afterschool Centers on Education, or Texas ACE, the CCLC program is a federally funded initiative that supports students in improving reading and mathematics skills, according to the U.S. Department of Education website.
The agreement is funded under Cycle 11, year five of the federal grant. HCDE was awarded $1.5 million to administer the program regionally, according to Texas Education Agency documents. The exact amount allocated to CCISD for the 2025‑26 school year has not yet been released.
