Quiktrip opened a new location in Dickinson in mid-February, an employee with the company said.

Zooming in: Open 24 hours, Quiktrip offers a variety of food options, including hot dogs, pastries and sandwiches, in addition to a variety of beverages, according to the website.

Clear Creek ISD approves after-school learning program agreement

Clear Creek ISD’s board of trustees approved an interlocal agreement with the Harris County Department of Education, or HCDE, to participate in a federally funded after-school program, following board approval at its Feb. 23 meeting. 

The program, part of the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers, or CCLC, initiative, provides after‑school and summer programming for the remainder of the 2025‑26 school year.

The details: Known statewide as Texas Afterschool Centers on Education, or Texas ACE, the CCLC program is a federally funded initiative that supports students in improving reading and mathematics skills, according to the U.S. Department of Education website.

The agreement is funded under Cycle 11, year  five of the federal grant. HCDE was awarded $1.5 million to administer the program regionally, according to Texas Education Agency documents. The exact amount allocated to CCISD for the 2025‑26 school year has not yet been released.

Where to see rising country music stars at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo

With the 2026 Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo quickly approaching, lineups for smaller stages, such as The Junction Stage and The Hideout, have recently been released. 

Located in different spots across the grounds, the stages offer smaller performances that vary in times and prices. 

The Garden Stage: Presented by Cotton Holdings, the stage hosts Texas country music performers during the World’s Champion Bar-B-Que Contest.

The Hideout: Known as the rodeo’s very own honky tonk, The Hideout features a spacious dance floor, bars and up-and-coming musicians.

  • March 3-21; music begins at 10:00 p.m. Monday-Friday and 8 p.m. Saturday-Sunday
  • 21 and up, open to the public
  • Located in a white tent on the west side of NRG Arena
