Shun Thomas defeated Colleen Aguilar-Epstein in Plano City Council's Place 7 special election on Jan. 31, according to unofficial voting results.

The details: With all vote centers reporting, Thomas received 6,131 votes, or 59.56%, while Aguilar-Epstein received 4,162 votes.

Previous Place 7 council member Julie Holmer announced her resignation from Plano City Council last November as she launched a campaign for Precinct 4 of the Collin County Commissioners Court. The county seat will be up for election in 2026.
