AF360 to offer personal training services in Spring

A new personal training and physical recovery center is opening its doors in Spring in April according to business owners.

The details: AF360 is a new facility which will offer personal training, group training, sports agility and endurance training, AF360 Managing Partner Amanda Lubicz said.

In their words: "The idea began with my passion for helping members of the community get healthy, creating my fitness brand, AmandaFit," Lubicz said. "Then, realizing I could meet the demand better if I had a structured and dedicated space to do that in, I began to look for a facility."

What else?: Lubicz said she will also provide recovery services through AF360 Recovery, which will offer Swedish massage, cupping massage, lymphatic massage and more.

Dirty soda shop Swig now open along Hwy. 249

National beverage chain Swig, which specializes in customizable "dirty soda" drinks, opened a new location off Hwy. 249 near Spring Cypress Road.

The details: The new Cypress Village drive-thru shop adds to a growing list of Swig stores in the Greater Houston area, with another shop coming soon in Cypress along Fry Road, according to Community Impact. 

On the menu: Swig combines sodas with a customized mix of flavors, creams, purees and fresh fruits, according to its website.

Popular menu items include the Texas Tab, which blends Dr. Pepper, vanilla and coconut cream, as well as the Strawberry Breeze, a water-based beverage with strawberry puree and sugar-free coconut. The business also serves a variety of energy drinks, teas and refreshers, and customers can build their own drinks.

Zooming out: Founded in Utah, Swig has more than 150 shops across the country and nine throughout Greater Houston, including Katy, Magnolia and Atascocita, per its website.

DATA: Most Greater Houston-area school districts saw enrollment losses from 2021-26

Over the last five years, more than half of public school districts across the Greater Houston area lost students, with one district seeing a more than 15% decline in enrollment, according to Texas Education Agency data released March 6.

The overview: Community Impact analyzed data from the TEA to learn how many students were enrolled at public school districts for the 2025-26 school year compared to the 2021-22 school year. 

Zooming in: The districts with the highest percentage of students gained over the last five years—from 2021-26—are:

  • Splendora ISD with 34.6% enrollment growth
  • Lamar CISD with 23.3% enrollment growth
  • Tomball ISD and New Caney ISD with 14.9% enrollment growth each

The districts with the largest percentage of enrollment loss over the last five years—from 2020-25—are:
  • Aldine ISD with 15.4% enrollment decline
  • Houston ISD with 13.3% enrollment decline
  • Pasadena ISD with 10.5% enrollment decline
  • Alief ISD with 10.4% enrollment decline

Saigon Cafe now offering Vietnamese cuisine, drinks in Humble

Saigon Cafe recently celebrated the opening of its new location at 15906 Woodland Hills Drive, Ste. 500, Humble, which offers a variety of Vietnamese dishes, including banh mi, vermicelli, pho and rolls. The restaurant also offers Vietnamese coffee, milk tea, brown sugar boba and boba tea.

The Caffeine Collective offers space for women-owned businesses in Magnolia

Jinxie Peruzzi, mother of eight children and business owner of The Caffeine Collective and Buddy and Sis Co., said she founded her own coffee shop to offer a community space for other mothers to feel welcome and at ease in a family-friendly environment.

Along with several coffee classics offered, Peruzzi said her favorite part of the cafe is creating seasonal coffee options, such as the raspberry rose latte and matcha-inspired drinks.

The cafe is also known for its buckets of coffee—34 ounces—and its coffee flights, four mini surprise coffee options for customers who want to try a variety of flavors.
