Schertz City Council approves $129.4K change order for sewer project

Schertz City Council approved a $129,406 change order for the Woman Hollering Creek Wastewater Trunk Main and Lift Station Project on Dec. 2.

What you need to know: Construction on the project—which began in January 2022—is for a sanitary sewer system along Woman Hollering Creek, from the existing Sedona Lift Station to a new lift station on I-10. An additional line will be constructed to serve the Hallie’s Cove subdivision, according to the Schertz Capital Improvement Projects webpage.

The latest change order in the multiyear project was to correct an oversight on the project. Previously, an error had been made related to the installation between CPS Energy and the system, with electrical equipment not put at the correct elevation. To correct the situation, contractor Thalle Construction will construct a foundation and steel platform so an electrical conduit can be at the right elevation, according to agenda documents.

Next steps: The project is anticipated to be complete in December, according to a project sheet attached to the change order.
