Nearly 19% of Kendall County voters cast early ballot, election day polling locations announced

Early voting for the March 3 primary elections has closed, bringing out nearly 19% of registered voters in Kendall County. 

March 3 is the last day to cast a vote for candidates running in the Republican Party for county judge, Precinct 2 commissioner and Precinct 4 commissioner. Justice of the peace seats and other state and county offices will also be on the ballot.

Justice of the peace, Precinct 1, is the only county race with a Democratic candidate, and the race is unopposed.

What you need to know: During the early voting period, 18.89% of registered voters cast a ballot, totaling 7,528 residents at the polls. Of the early voting days, Feb. 27 brought out the largest number of voters, having 1,493 ballots cast throughout the day. Election day is March 3, with polls open from 7 a.m. through 7 p.m.

Vance Jackson Road (Huebner Road to Wurzbach Road) project

  • Project: Part of the city of San Antonio’s 2022-2027 bond program, work includes a series of roadway improvements, such as adding a consistent two-way center turn lane, building improved sidewalks and a shared-use path and installing underground drainage to low-water crossings.
  • Update: The project is currently in the design phase and is estimated to begin construction in 2027, according to city documents.
  • Timeline: winter 2027-fall 2028

I-10 and Loop 1604 interchange project
  • Project: Part of the Loop 1604 North Expansion Project, the Loop 1604 and I-10 interchange project will consist of eight flyover ramps, roundabouts, a high-occupancy vehicle lane and other interchange improvements, according to the Texas Department of Transportation.
  • Update: TxDOT opened the eighth and final flyover ramp Feb. 5, connecting westbound Loop 1604 to westbound I-10. Known as Segment 2, the interchange is 65% done.
  • Timeline: 2022-2027

Planning to vote in Texas on Tuesday? Here’s what to know before heading to the polls

Primary election day in Texas is March 3. With dozens of state, regional and local races on the ballot, voters in the Republican and Democratic primaries will determine their parties’ nominees for the November midterm election.

At the polls: Polling places across Texas will be open from 7 a.m.-7 p.m. March 3, according to the secretary of state.

On election day, voters in the following counties in Community Impact’s coverage areas can vote at any polling location within their county of residence: Bastrop, Bexar, Brazoria, Brazos, Collin, Comal, Fort Bend, Galveston, Guadalupe, Harris, Hays, Tarrant and Travis. Registered voters in other counties are required to visit a polling place specific to their voting precinct.

Voters are required to bring photo identification to the polls.

On the ballot: Voters will choose their political parties’ nominees for the U.S. Senate, seven state offices, 10 state judicial seats, 38 congressional seats, nearly all state legislative seats and over half of the State Board of Education. Candidates who win their primaries will advance to the November ballot.
