Killum Pest Control protects Pearland homes for nearly 3 decades

Whether it’s providing pest control services to the Houston Zoo or a Pearland home, management with Killum Pest Control said they treat every property with the same level of protection and respect.

For Eric Melass, Killum’s vice president of operations, it’s about evolving to meet the needs of Pearland residents for years to come.

“We're always evolving,” Melass said. “When I started 30 years ago all we really did was insects, and had a quarterly pest control service. Now we do everything. Our services encompass every insect that you could think of related to structural insects.”

The history: Originally owned by Gerald Kellum, the pest control company was named Kellum Pest Patrol before current owner L.E. “Corky” Melass purchased it in 1973.

From there, the company branched out from Lake Jackson to Pearland in 1998 with headquarters remaining in Lake Jackson and another service center in Pearland.
