Q&A: Hear from the candidates for Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees Position 5
Nine candidates are running for three positions on the Cy-Fair ISD board of trustees in the upcoming Nov. 4 general election. Candidates Lesley Guilmart, Radele Walker and Terrance Edmond will compete for Position 5, currently held by Natalie Blasingame.
Some context: Blasingame will seek election to a different position on the board, rather than running as the Position 5 incumbent. The elected Position 5 trustee will serve a four-year term.

The details: Delivery services are available to local customers up to one hour away from Cypress, Cristobal said. Services are available on the business' Instagram for $25 purchases and above.

Blinn College to open new campus dedicated to workforce training in Waller
The Blinn College District will soon have a new 17,000-square-foot facility dedicated to workforce training and technical education, according to a Sept. 15 news release.
“Together, we are building the foundation for students to pursue rewarding careers while helping local employers meet the growing demand for a skilled workforce,” Mary Hensley, chancellor of the Blinn College District, said in the release.
The framework: The new complex, named the Waller Workforce and Technical Education Complex, will sit on Binford Park Road with more than 80 parking spaces. The facility will feature the following:
Three lecture classrooms
Computer learning lab
Medical learning lab
Programs within the new facility on the Waller Campus will include expanded mechatronics and advanced manufacturing courses, emergency medical technician basic certification and phlebotomy.
Stay tuned: The complex is expected to be done in time for summer 2026 classes, according to the release.

The owner of Sambrooks Hospitality, Michael Sambrooks, announced in a Sept. 16 news release that he has taken over the lease at Mandito's Tex-Mex in Bellaire, which closed over the weekend, and intends to rebrand it as Candente.
Candente is an industrial-style Tex-Mex restaurant that opened in Montrose in 2019. It is known for fajitas, carne asada, chicken and seafood cooked over a wood-fired grill. The spot also provides classic cocktails, such as margaritas, tequila flights and ranch waters.
Sambrooks said that the Bellaire location will serve the same menu of handcrafted Tex-Mex staples and classic cocktails as the Montrose location.
