The Woodlands Township board of directors will meet Oct. 15 to consider several items, including changes to its fire services agreement with the city of Shenandoah and advance funding for 2027 Parks and Recreation Capital Improvement Projects.
Some context: The township has provided fire and emergency management services to Shenandoah since 2011. The proposed amendment to the current interlocal cooperation agreement would extend the contract terms through Sept. 30, 2036. It would also establish a more predictable funding model using Shenandoah's preceding year of certified taxes at a fixed rate of $0.10 per $100 of net appraised value.
Additionally, the board will consider approving $975,000 from the capital replacement reserve for five 2027 parks and recreation projects, which require approval before Jan. 1.
Before you go: The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at The Woodlands Township and will be livestreamed on the township's website.
