Global third-party logistics provider Arvato expands operations with new Denton site

Arvato, a third-party logistics supplying company, has begun operations in Denton and will further expand with a new plant, according to a March 30 release from the company.

The overview: Arvato ensures that critical technology components are moved safely, securely and on time from a manufacturer to facilities assigned to that manufacturer, said Astrud Peco, Arvato's communications manager.

Arvato specializes in the handling of sensitive hardware, including servers, graphics processing unit infrastructure and networking equipment for artificial intelligence infrastructure companies and cloud services providers.

What they're saying: “Denton was the right fit when we started evaluating this market looking at connectivity, proximity and reliable infrastructure. The region is genuinely growing, and we wanted to be a part of that,” said Andreas Podwojewski, the managing director of Arvato North America and Brazil.

Toy shop and cafe Velcrokid to relocate to downtown Denton

Toy shop and vending machine cafe Velcrokid will relocate to downtown Denton from its Justin Road location in Lewisville, owner Eric Bowman said. The business offers toys, coffee and snacks, artwork and books.

Velcrokid will relocate to a shared space at 216 W. Mulberry in September Bowman said. The Lewisville location will close on May 16, but the business will host pop up events around Dallas-Fort Worth between closing the Lewisville Store and opening in Denton, Bowman said.


Bookstore Patchouli Joe’s is also moving to 216 W. Mulberry later this year.
