Construction will start on a new apartment complex in McKinney, and a new indoor playground is set to open in Plano. Check out six major North Texas construction permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.

1. Franklin Branch Apartments: A nine-building apartment complex called Franklin Branch Apartments will break ground in early March 2027, according to TDLR documents. Previous Community Impact reporting states that the apartment complex will offer 288 units. Developer The NRP Group partnered with the McKinney Housing Finance Corp. to build the complex to offer income-restricted rental units.

American to open new check-in experience, 2 Admirals Club lounges

Fort Worth-based American Airlines plans to open its largest Admirals Club lounge within Terminal C at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, according to a news release.

"We're investing in every stage of the premium travel journey at DFW, beginning the moment customers arrive at the airport," American’s Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden said in the news release.

New Terminal C Admirals Club
The new Admirals Club in Terminal C, which will be located near the terminal’s Skylink station, will be 37,000 square feet, per the news release.

The space will include a variety of seating options and workspaces.

Provisions by Admirals Club

The Provisions by Admirals Club will be a new grab-and-go kiosk option for travelers within Terminal F. The new terminal’s initial phase will include a 400,000-square-foot building and 15 gates, according to previous reporting.

Flagship check-in

A new check-in experience will open later this year near Gate D30. Eligible customers will be able to take advantage of the dedicated check-in area for flights.
