Q&A: CollegePros consultant Kate Trent offers Central Texas students college application expertise

CollegePros co-owners Kate Trent and Kim Heffernan assist dozens of Central Texas high school students in determining their next steps after graduation each school year.

The overview: Trent and Heffernan, who were formerly educators in the Austin area, started CollegePros in 2023 to provide a range of supportive services for students in selecting a career path, successfully finding and applying to colleges as well as receiving financial aid.

The overview: The business offers three types of classes, including classical, contemporary and beginner sessions.

The classical class offers a comprehensive immersion into Joseph Pilates’ original method, while the contemporary class embraces a more flexible approach to exercise method. The fundamentals class teaches beginners the fundamental skills and principles of the Pilates method, with an emphasis on students familiarizing themselves with Pilates equipment.

Italian-based Caracol opens U.S. headquarters in Pflugerville

The Italian-based advanced manufacturing company Caracol opened its U.S. headquarters in Pflugerville this month.

The overview
 : Caracol is an industrial 3D printer manufacturer that works with aerospace, construction, automotive, railway and other industries. The 10,000-square-foot facility production center in Pflugerville triples the company’s space for systems productions and application development, according to a news release.

The company’s Heron AM robotic platform prints parts in composite material with no shape or scale limits, while its Vipra AM system prints metal parts for various industrial machinery.
