Longtime McKinney residents Manuel and Adelina Ortega purchased Juarez Mexican Restaurant in 2003 after Manuel’s sisters, Lulu and Monica Ortega—who worked at the restaurant, which has been serving McKinney since 1988—told him the owner was looking to sell.

Manuel Ortega has a simple answer when asked why he purchased the downtown McKinney restaurant: “I wanted to own my own business,” he said.

On the menu: The menu features breakfast items, which are served all day, including chilaquiles, burritos, huevos rancheros and more. Beyond breakfast fare, Juarez Mexican Restaurant serves a variety of authentic Mexican plates such as carne guisada, chile relleno and tortas.

What’s special about it?: Manuel Ortega said it is common for customers to say they’ve been eating at Juarez Mexican Restaurant since they were children and credits about 45% of their business to repeat customers. He attributes the flavor of their food and the lower-than-expected prices as being what surprises first-time customers as well as what brings them back.

1. Bella Bra Shop: The shop offers personal custom bra fittings with sizing options ranging from band size 28-52 and cup sizes A-O, its website states. Bella Bra Shop offers a variety of bra types such as supportive wire and non-wire styles, lingerie, nursing and maternity bras, post-surgical bras and sports bras.

1. Burney Lane/Midway Road rehabilitation
Project: The work will cover the rehabilitation of around 2,950 linear feet of Burney Lane/Midway Road from the intersection of Lonesome Dove Road in Southlake until Meadowmere Lane in Grapevine, according to city documents.
Update: Grapevine City Council approved an interlocal agreement with Tarrant County for the project during a July 7 meeting.

Fort Worth-based American Airlines plans to open its largest Admirals Club lounge within Terminal C at Dallas Fort Worth International Airport, according to a news release.

"We're investing in every stage of the premium travel journey at DFW, beginning the moment customers arrive at the airport," American’s Chief Customer Officer Heather Garboden said in the news release.

New Terminal C Admirals Club
The new Admirals Club in Terminal C, which will be located near the terminal’s Skylink station, will be 37,000 square feet, per the news release.

The space will include a variety of seating options and workspaces.

Provisions by Admirals Club

The Provisions by Admirals Club will be a new grab-and-go kiosk option for travelers within Terminal F. The new terminal’s initial phase will include a 400,000-square-foot building and 15 gates, according to previous reporting.

Flagship check-in

A new check-in experience will open later this year near Gate D30. Eligible customers will be able to take advantage of the dedicated check-in area for flights.
