Roanoke officials grant temporary construction easement to Trinity River Authority

The Trinity River Authority, which manages wastewater treatment plants in North Texas, requested two Roanoke properties for a temporary construction easement for a lift station and new pipeline, according to city documents.

Roanoke City Council approved the $47,374 land acquisition at the Nov. 25 council meeting.

The details: The TRA requested 0.5 acres of property located on Roanoke Road to relocate and expand a lift, or water pump, station. The TRA will also replace a metering station and construct approximately 10,000 feet of pipeline to accommodate current and projected needs in the Cade Branch Interceptor System, according to city documents.

The cost: The TRA will pay the city of Roanoke $46,114 for the temporary easement, per city documents.

Mooo's Ice Cream to offer boba, shakes in Keller

A new ice cream business, Mooo’s, is expected to serve a number of desserts at Keller Crossing next year.

The business will offer scoops, shakes, boba tea, ice cream sandwiches and more according to a City of Keller social media post.

Raw and organic juice business closes Keller location after 11 years

Juice Junkies, has closed its location at Keller Town Center.

The details: The business announced its last day of service was Oct. 13 in a social media post.

Its Keller location has served customers since its opening in November 2014. This was one of two locations for the business.

Grapevine's Carol of Lights starts holiday festivities in the Christmas Capital of Texas

The Christmas Capital of Texas started its holiday event schedule with the 37th Carol of Lights on Nov. 24 on Main Street.

A 60-foot Christmas tree was lit at 7:30 p.m., while Santa made appearances at three different locations during the four-hour event.

According to the Grapevine Convention & Visitors Bureau website, more than 1,400 festive Christmas events take place over 40 days, transforming Grapevine into a storybook destination.

What happened: There were some new events at this year's Carol of Lights, including Santa’s Racetrack and the Frozen Fun zone, which had bounce houses and a snow hill.

What to expect: The Merry & Bright Christmas Drone Show is scheduled for 7 p.m. Dec. 1 and Dec. 8. There will be 400 drones in 12 custom formations near Main Street and Northwest Highway and near Main Street and Dallas Road, according to previous reporting.
