Check out three transportation project updates in the Northeast San Antonio Metrocom.

Ongoing Projects
Cibolo FY25 Street Rehabilitation Package 1

Project: The package, part of Cibolo’s FY25 Capital Improvements Program, will provide rehabilitation at Deer Creek Boulevard from Cordero Drive to Falling Sun, Green Valley Road from Dean Road to Westmont, and Green Valley Road from Cibolo Valley Drive to Green Valley Loop.

According to Cibolo City Council agenda documents, rehabilitation is a mill and overlay treatment, where concrete is repaired and replaced as needed. The 2-3 inches of asphalt are also removed and replaced. This will result in an improvement to road conditions for 10-15 years with maintenance.

Update: City Manager Wayne Reed said at the Sept. 23 Cibolo City Council meeting that the project will be completed Oct. 27.

FOODIE FRIDAY
Check out these new restaurants and bars opening across the San Antonio area.

Darkside Brick Oven Pizza Co. is filled to the brim with 80s memorabilia—life-size statues of Star Wars characters like, Luke Skywalker, hang from the ceiling while movie posters from era flicks line the walls.

As for the food, Hawes travelled all over the country to find what style of pizza would work best for the eatery's menu.

“We travelled from Connecticut to New York and Arizona to California,” Hawes said.

He settled on an eclectic mix of New York-style pies, ranging from simple build-your-own pizzas to specialty styles like BBQ brisket ($22) and white margherita ($20).

Additionally, there are salads, appetizers, deli sandwiches and a variety of desserts like the Darkside Iron Skillet Cookie ($8).
