Staging for the Two Step Inn Festival will begin April 7, requiring San Gabriel Park in Georgetown to close in phases ahead of the April 18-19 event.
The big picture: Portions of the park will begin closing April 7, with additional phases taking place April 8, April 11 and April 13, and lasting through April 24, according to a news release from the city of Georgetown.
The festival will also require some streets and lanes surrounding the park to close, the release states.
City facilities will also be impacted, with the Georgetown Recreation Center closing from 5 p.m. April 17 through 5:30 a.m. April 20. Additionally, the Williamson County Regional Animal Shelter's Red Poppy Adoptique—located at the former Georgetown Animal Shelter facility—the McMaster Athletic Complex and the Transfer Station will be closed April 18-19.
One more thing: Due to construction on Austin Avenue, pedestrians will not be able to use that road to walk from downtown Georgetown to the park, per the release. Instead, foot traffic may use College Street.
