Medical City Plano Hospital celebrated a major construction milestone as its upcoming $108 million expansion tracks to finish next year.

The gist: The hospital held a topping-out ceremony last month, marking the completion of the building’s frame in its expansion to the Sarah Cannon Cancer Hospital patient tower.

The $108 million project will expand the hospital’s footprint by 131,700 square feet, adding four stories and 90 patient beds. The project is expected to finish in spring 2027, according to a news release from Medical City.

The expansion will also move the hospital’s ground helipads to the roof, enabling “faster, more direct access” to the operating room, the release states.
