Celina council OKs more than $10M for upcoming roadwork

Celina City Council unanimously approved five construction contracts for projects focused on pavement and drainage issues at a March 10 meeting.

The gist: Some of the projects are designed to prepare Celina for future growth, according to city staff.

Other projects, like work planned for Hillside Drive and Oklahoma Drive, will help address drainage issues, something council members cited as a priority at a Dec. 9 meeting about future downtown street reconstruction.

Get involved: Officials will organize public meetings between contractors and nearby residents before construction starts on Hillside Drive, Coit Road and Oklahoma Drive, according to city documents.

Koper Outdoor is relocating the company showroom from Prosper to Frisco in April, business owner Glen Kuopus said.
