Lake Ralph Hall on track to increase water capacity in Prosper, Celina

Lake Ralph Hall, a lake the Upper Trinity Regional Water District is building in Fannin County, is starting to fill with water, according to a July news release.

Why it matters: Once operational, the lake will provide water to Prosper, Celina and other North Texas communities to help increase water capacity as the population grows, according to prior reporting.

What next: Now that construction crews have completed the part of the dam that helps control water flow, Lake Ralph Hall will fill naturally as it rains, per the release.

Looking ahead: Filling the lake will take three to five years depending on rainfall, and Lake Ralph Hall is set to begin limited water delivery by the end of this year.
