Cedar Park considers changes to Indigo Ridge South development plans

The Cedar Park Planning and Zoning Commission approved a rezoning request March 11 for the roughly 100-acre Indigo Ridge South site that would allow a mix of commercial, employment and residential development.

A closer look: The project, first proposed in 2018, will span roughly 100 acres on the south side of East Whitestone Boulevard east of West Parmer Lane.

The proposal would convert the property to a planned development, or PD, district supporting general business and mixed-use development. According to city documents, the revised plan would add about 5 acres recently purchased on the site’s northwest corner and dedicate right of way for the future extensions of Commerce Parkway and Toro Grande Boulevard.

City staff recommended approval, citing that the project aligns with the city’s vision for “walkable and urban” development.

What’s next: The recommendation will now go to the Cedar Park City Council for final consideration, with public hearings scheduled for April 9 and April 23.
