The gist: A new community center is scheduled to open in the Tomball area in summer 2028, according to Harris County Precinct 3 Commissioner Tom Ramsey. Located at 11603 Hufsmith Kuykendahl Road, the proposed 18,000-square-foot facility will be built next to the Samuel Matthews public park.

The project will mark the 10th facility for the Harris County precinct. Planned amenities for the new community center include:

Grazeables, a charcuterie board and "edible artistry" shop, has relocated from Tomball to Conroe.

The details: Grazeables is a self-described charcuterie box bar “specializing in elaborate tablescape design, platter artistry and elevated mini desserts.

“We are officially over here and the Tomball store is closed,” Martinez said.

The shop sells artistically arranged charcuterie boards, fruit cakes and other types of platters. For events, Grazeables will make tablescapes with spreads of various appetizers.

Montgomery County Commissioners Court on Nov. 5 approved accepting a grant from the Texas Historical Commission to pay for the design of restoring the county's courthouse.

The overview: It's the latest step in the county's plans to refurbish the courthouse to its original 1936 luster and eventually move most courts out of the building and into a new justice center in downtown Conroe.

Jason Smith, deputy chief of staff for Montgomery County Judge Mark Keough, said funding from the state's courthouse preservation program requires the building to remain a working courthouse.

Smith, who spoke at Conroe's City Council meeting and at commissioners court, said the county in the next legislative session will try to get money from the state for construction.
