Jovie apartments rebrands as Jolie, opens leasing to all ages in Pflugerville

A Pflugerville apartment community, Jovie, is rebranding as Jolie and expanding from a 55-plus community to welcome residents of all ages.

What’s happening: The property initially operated as a 55-plus community but will now function as a conventional apartment community open to a broader demographic. Property management representative Marisa Cunningham said the 55-plus model “wasn’t as successful as anticipated,” prompting the shift.

However, management emphasized that older residents remain an important part of the community.

“We don’t want to shy away from that demographic by any means,” Cunningham said. “We’re really just opening up a broader demographic, but we do want to continue to connect with the community the same way that we do with the 55-plus community.”

After 20 years, Pflugerville Animal Hospital relocates to new facility

Pflugerville Animal Hospital is moving into a newly constructed facility along East Pflugerville Parkway, with appointments set to begin next week.

What’s happening: The veterinary clinic will begin seeing patients at its new location on East Pflugerville Parkway starting next week as part of a soft opening. Sharon Howe, practice manager, said the move comes after more than two decades at the clinic’s previous location.

“We’ve been here over 20 years, and our client base has grown, and we needed a bigger facility,” Howe said.

The hospital built and now owns the new building, which will allow the practice to expand its footprint and operate in a larger, modern space.

WilCo historic jail site sold to hospitality developer

Delightful Development purchased the Williamson County historic jail site Feb. 10, following approval from county commissioners.

The details: Delightful Development co-founder Craig Cavallier told county commissioners the team doesn’t have a specific plan for the site yet but expects to incorporate a restaurant and hotel in a mixed-use development. The design will include the historic jail building, Cavallier said.

The developer will work with the city of Georgetown to develop the site following the sale, County Judge Steve Snell said.

Some context: In November 2024, Williamson County began deconstructing the nonhistoric additions near the jail site at 102 W. Third St., and stripping the jail interior in order to repurpose the site and sell it.

Georgetown City Council approved a rezoning request from the county Jan. 27, allowing for the following uses:

  • Hotels
  • Restaurants
  • Single-family residential
  • Parking lots
  • Personal services
  • Banking or financial services
