Prosper approves $607K in traffic signal infrastructure improvements

Prosper is set to invest more than $607,000 in traffic signal upgrades as town officials work to manage traffic flow.

The details: Prosper Town Council unanimously approved two items related to traffic signal improvements during its April 29 meeting. Work includes installing cameras and communications hardware at three water towers, 16 traffic signals and three pedestrian hybrid beacons. Council first discussed the topic at an April 7 work session.

One more thing: Prosper officials are also considering using roundabouts as an alternative to traffic lights on future rounds as the town develops.

Haraz Coffee House opening soon on Prosper, Celina border

Haraz Coffee House, a Yemeni coffee shop chain, is opening soon at the Creeks in Celina.

The details: A company representative said they are planning to open the new Prosper location this summer. Haraz Coffee House offers a variety of traditional drinks such as the Harazi Mufawar with coffee, cardamom and cream. The menu also features several espresso-based drinks, matcha, teas and coffee.
