Multifamily housing underway along Pat Booker Road in Universal City

A new luxury apartment complex, called Twenty Nine 02 Apartments, is being built at 2902 Pat Booker Road in Universal City.

Project details: The developer is White-Conlee Builders, a privately held real estate development and construction company headquartered in San Antonio. The development will consist of 268 units across 10 residential buildings.

There will be a clubhouse, community pool, cabanas and dog park. Twenty Nine 02 Apartments will offer one- to three-bedroom units with one to two bathrooms, Michael Cassata, Universal City’s development services and economic development corporation director, said in an email to Community Impact.

Looking ahead: Construction began in May and is expected to wrap up in the fall or winter of 2026, Cassata said in the email.

Revolution Church breaks ground on new location in Schertz

Officials with Revolution Church held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new Schertz location on Oct. 12.

What you need to know: The church is currently located at 9360 Corporate Drive in Selma. In an email to Community Impact, Pastor Mallory Dorrough said their new location in Schertz at 4567 FM 3009 will be the church's home base.
The building is anticipated to open in December 2026, Dorrough said.

What they offer: Revolution Church holds church services weekly on Saturdays and Sundays, as well as online services and events for young adults, according to the church’s website.

Check out these new restaurants and bars opening across the San Antonio area.

Another national chain restaurant is set to become a tenant of the Schertz Station development.

What you need to know: Dave's Hot Chicken is making its way to the Schertz location in late November, Josh Levitt, the restaurant's public relations staff, said in an email to Community Impact.

This will be the fourth Dave's Hot Chicken location in the San Antonio area, joining two restaurants in San Antonio and one in New Braunfels, according to the company's website.

A new all-you-can-eat sushi spot is now open on San Antonio’s Northeast side.

What’s happening: East Blue Sushi officially opened Oct. 3 at 6831 N. Loop 1604 E. near the Rolling Oaks Mall, the owners told Community Impact.

On the menu: The restaurant has an all-you-can-eat sushi bar featuring a wide selection of rolls, according to the menu.

Trader Joe's officially opens new location in North San Antonio

This nationwide grocery store chain has continued its expansion in San Antonio, recently opening a brand new location on the city’s north side.

In case you missed it: Trader Joe’s officially unveiled its newest brick-and-mortar at 11745 I-10, Ste. 410, in the Huebner Oaks Center on Nov. 4.

According to the store’s website, it’s San Antonio’s third overall location, with 500 scattered throughout the United States.

Across Central Texas, the chain recently opened a new location in Bee Cave on Oct. 29, according to previous reporting from Community Impact.

What they offer: Known for its store brand products, produce and more, Trader Joe’s offers “unconventional” and “interesting” options for grocery shopping, according to its website.

There’s also a floral section, bakery and deli.
