Slice of Venice offers handcrafted pizzas, pasta in Spring-Klein

Located inside a family-friendly atmosphere, Slice of Venice brings a fresh take on Italian comfort food to the Spring and Klein communities. Founded by Inna Klebanskaya in January 2025, the eatery was created with the mission to serve authentic pizza and handmade pasta made with quality ingredients. From pizza dough crafted without sugar and Italian flour to scratch-made pasta prepared daily, every dish is designed to deliver flavor without the heavy, bloated feeling often associated with pizza, Klebanskaya said.

From the oven: Slice of Venice serves a variety of hand-tossed pizzas including the Granny Pizza, a customer favorite made with tomato sauce, mozzarella, meatballs, Parmesan cheese and parsley.

What's special about it? Klebanskaya said when they were struggling and on the verge of closing in early 2026, TikTok food blogger davidspov_ visited the business and helped call his followers for help to sustain the business. After the video went viral, locals and nonlocals rushed to the eatery giving enough business and donations to keep the Slice of Venice alive.

Mobile Audiology of Houston opens brick and mortar in Spring

Mobile Audiology of Houston, a local comprehensive hearing care clinic, opened a brick-and-mortar location in Spring in early March, owner and provider Jessica Nader said.

About the business: Located near the intersection of Cypresswood Drive and I-45, Mobile Audiology of Houston provides care for hearing loss, deafness, tinnitus and other ear-related conditions. Nader said the business offers in-clinic and in-home hearing exams for adults, hearing aid fittings, screenings, and repair and maintenance services.

She told Community Impact while many private clinics and retailers dispense one manufacturer, hers offers a selection of hearing aid devices from all major manufacturers.

Staying local: Nader said she’s been providing mobile services with in-home visits for about a year, but she wanted to open a brick-and-mortar space so she could have a “controlled acoustic environment” for testing. As a Spring-area resident, she said she wanted to serve her neighbors and keep the physical clinic local.

NOAA officials predict below-average Atlantic hurricane season for first time since 2015

With hurricane season beginning June 1 and running through Nov. 30, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration officials are predicting the first below-average Atlantic hurricane season since 2015.

What you need to know: The latest NOAA forecasts are expecting residents along the Atlantic Ocean and the surrounding areas to see a less active hurricane season than normal, with a 55% chance of a below-normal season, NOAA Administrator Neil Jacobs said at a May 21 news conference.

According to predictions, the NOAA is forecasting a range of eight to 14 named storms in the Atlantic Ocean with winds of 39 mph or higher, including:

  • Three to six hurricanes with winds of 74 mph or higher
  • One to three major hurricanes with winds of 111 mph or higher

Staying prepared: Although the season is predicted to be below average, National Weather Service Director Ken Graham said it's important to remember it only takes one storm to make it a bad season.
