AB Energy USA announces The Woodlands as new North American headquarters

AB Energy USA has selected The Woodlands for its North American headquarters, according to a March 11 announcement from Howard Hughes and The Woodlands Area Economic Development Partnership.

Breaking news: The location is expected to bring dozens of new jobs to the region, according to the news release. AB, described in the release as a global leader in sustainability solutions headquartered in Lombardy, Italy, has cited The Woodlands region’s workforce and proximity to other leaders in the industry as factors in choosing it for its North American headquarters.

More details: The company will be located at The Woodlands Towers at The Waterway, and move-in will take place in the second quarter of the year. It will add approximately 45 new jobs in The Woodlands in 2026, with another 30 jobs annually in engineering, service, maintenance and integration roles over the next five years beginning in 2027, according to the release.

The Mexican restaurant Doña Lula Gorditas and Tacos opened in mid-February, manager Claudia Garcia said.

PREVIEW: Conroe ISD to hear enrollment projections at March 17 meeting

The Conroe ISD board of trustees will learn about the district's projected future enrollment along with naming principals for its new schools at its March 17 meeting.

What to know: The March regular meeting agenda includes future enrollment projection information from Zonda Demographics. The board will also discuss its local school library advisory council, per the agenda.

What else: The meeting will also include the naming and approval of the board of seven campuses throughout the district, including the Grand Oaks High School Ninth-Grade campus, opening in January 2027, as previously reported by Community Impact.

The Best Stop Cajun Market brings a taste of Louisiana to Katy

The Best Stop Cajun Market in Katy operates both as a marketplace and a deli, where customers can shop through products such as signature spices and products the brand has developed and sells.

Customers can also pick up fresh food to take out or dine in, with breakfast, lunch and dinner options available.

The Cajun market was originally established in Scott, Louisiana, nearly 40 years ago, and has since established five other locations, with the Katy location opening in December 2023.
