Baker Personal Training & Gym relocates within Kingwood

Formerly located in the Northdale Plaza shopping center on Northpark Drive, Baker Personal Training & Gym officials said the gym relocated to Lakeville Drive in May.

What to expect: The fully private gym was founded in 2007 and offers one-on-one training as well as small group personal training. With a primary focus on adults over age 50, officials said they offer services for all demographics.

Meet the owner: Owned by Andy Baker, per the website, the gym specializes in comprehensive training that is simple and safe, and delivers an antidote to the physical problems associated with the aging process.

PREVIEW: Harris County commissioners to address new district courts, infrastructure committee

Harris County commissioners are seeking to appoint Harris County Toll Road Authority Executive Director Robert Trevino to lead a new countywide infrastructure committee aimed at moving county projects forward July 9, as the county also prepares to bring five new civil district courts online.

The breakdown: According to meeting documents, Harris County commissioners will finally review the creation of a countywide infrastructure committee to keep track and create standardized reports for multiple infrastructure initiatives that have been operating under their own committees. Following two rounds of discussions, Carter will bring the recommendation to court for a third time July 9, with Trevino poised to lead the new committee.

Also on the agenda: Commissioners will also hear an update regarding bringing five new civil district courts online as Management and Budget Executive Director Daniel Ramos presents the cost for hiring necessary personnel, such as deputies and court staff. through the end of 2026.

San Jacinto River Authority reviews 10-year plans for multiple divisions

At the June 25 regular board meeting, the San Jacinto River Authority reviewed 10-year plans for its Highlands and Lake Conroe divisions, as well as its water supply planning. The 10-year plans detail various projects' purposes and costs that the SJRA would consider approving over the next 10 years.

The breakdown: SJRA Graduate Engineer Jared Marek presented a 10-year project plan for the Highlands Division to the SJRA board. The plan includes updates to the water pump station facilities, addressing aging canal structures and levee rehabilitation, and the expansion of current operations and maintenance.

What else: SJRA Project Manager Greg Lushbaugh also presented the Lake Conroe Division’s 10-year plan to the SJRA board. Lake Conroe’s 10-year plan consists of different projects with an emphasis on repairs and maintenance to Lake Conroe facilities and roads.
