Here are 10 transportation projects that are upcoming or underway in Prosper and Celina, according to the town and city's capital improvement websites. This list is not comprehensive.

Upcoming projects
Frontier Parkway construction: The project spans Frontier Parkway from FM 1385 to Dallas Parkway. The project will construct four lanes of concrete roadway.

First Street widening: First Street will be widened from a two-lane roadway to a four-lane divided roadway from the Dallas North Tollway to Coleman Street.

Ongoing projects
Sunset Boulevard reconstruction: The asphalt pavement of Sunset Boulevard is being replaced along with the installation of a sanitary sewer line. The project spans Preston Road to Coit Road.

Coit Road reconstruction: The project will construct four lanes of an ultimate six-lane roadway. The project spans Coit Road from First Street to Prosper Trail.

The Gents Place is opening soon in Prosper. 

What they offer: It will offer grooming services in an upscale environment, according to the business website. Hair care services include cuts, shampooing, conditioning and facial hair trims. Specialty manicures and pedicures are also offered, alongside boot and shoe polishing.

On May 26, Republican voters will choose their nominee for the Texas Railroad Commission in a runoff election between former Tarrant County GOP Chair Bo French and incumbent Jim Wright.

The overview: The Republican railroad commission race is one of several statewide contests that advanced to May runoffs after no candidate received more than 50% of the vote in the March 3 primary election.

Wright and French were the two highest-performing candidates in the five-way primary race, with Wright receiving 32.1% of the vote and French collecting 31.7%.

The winner of the May 26 overtime round will face state Rep. John Rosenthal, D-Houston, in the November midterm election. Third-party candidates may also appear on the November ballot.
