Dove hunting season is officially underway in North Texas. 

The details: all dove hunters require permission from a property owner within designated areas before hunting on any tract of land. Hunters must remain at least 1,000 feet from schools, day care facilities and hospitals, and at least 600 feet from residential buildings.

This year, dove hunting season runs until Nov. 8 and again from Dec. 18 through Jan. 7, 2027, according to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Department website. The city has provided a map that shows hunting areas in Frisco.

Solidcore is planning a new fitness studio for Frisco’s Fields West development, according to recently filed documents. 

What to know: Solidcore is a high-intensity, low-impact fitness studio that uses specialized resistance-based machines to deliver controlled full-body workouts. The business currently operates gyms in Southlake, Dallas, Addison and Plano. 

Construction on the gym is expected to start Feb. 1, 2027, and finish by April 16, 2027, according to the filing.

Lite-On manufacturing facility in McKinney: Lite-On Technology Corp., a Taiwan-based manufacturing company that specializes in semiconductor components, is moving into an existing warehouse facility in McKinney, per a TDLR filing. The move will bring at least 600 jobs to the city, per previous reporting.

2. MRI Equipment Replacement at Baylor Scott & White Medical Center—Plano: Officials at the medical center officials are replacing its MRI equipment, per a TDLR filing. Equipment replacement is estimated to last four months.

• Estimated timeline: Nov. 16, 2026-March 31, 2027
• Estimated cost: $3 million

For the first time in over a decade, there is no incumbent in the Texas attorney general's race as Republican Ken Paxton runs for U.S. Senate.

How we got here: Johnson and Middleton each won their primary runoff elections in May, Community Impact reported, while Oxford was selected as the Texas Libertarian Party's candidate during an April nominating convention.

Looking ahead: Early voting in eight statewide races and dozens of local elections runs from Oct. 19-30. Election Day is Nov. 3.
