Frost Bank opens new location in Hutto

Frost Bank opened its new Hutto location on June 1.

The gist: The Texas bank’s newest financial center is located in the Townwest Commons shopping center in Hutto. The location will offer banking, investment, insurance, mortgage and notary services, as well as include a lobby ATM.

The bank has been expanding across the state in recent years. Frost opened its 200th location in Pflugerville in May 2025, a new location in Northwest Austin in January and plans to have a new location in Georgetown.

Ike's Love & Sandwiches to open in Pflugerville this month

Ike's Love & Sandwiches, a growing sandwich chain from San Francisco, is set to have a grand opening in Pflugerville this month.

More details: The restaurant serves sandwiches loaded with signature sauces on Dutch crunch bread, with menu items named after local icons. They also offer vegan, vegetarian, halal and gluten-free options, along with a signature “Dirty Sauce” made from a garlic aioli base.

This will be the fourth Ike’s location in the Austin area, and founder Ike Shehadeh will be at the grand opening.

Additionally, the first 50 guests will receive a free sandwich and free T-shirt. After that, sandwiches are $7.97 all day for Ike’s Love Rewards members, and one rewards member will win free sandwiches for a year. Everyone who buys a sandwich can play spin-the-bottle for a chance to win exclusive Ike’s prizes.

What you need to know: The Round Rock franchise of Peach Cobbler Factory held a soft opening May 22. It is located in the Sky Plaza retail center.

A Sprouts Farmers Market, East 51st Street improvements and a new museum building are among the five most expensive projects filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation in the Austin metro this week.

1. Deposition Technology ($27 million): This project at the semiconductor support and manufacturing company consists of a cleanroom expansion and renovation.

2. East 51st Street ($17 million): This project involves the revitalization of East 51st Street from I-35 to Berkman Drive.

3. Sprouts Farmers Market ($4.8 Million): A new location for the grocery store is coming to Hutto.

4. UT Dinosaur Trackways ($4.2 million): The building is a 2,100-square-foot single-story museum, which aims to conserve and house some of Texas’ most renowned fossilized footprints made 113 million years ago by a sauropod and a theropod near Glen Rose.

5. Texas State University: Student Success Commons at the Albert B. Alkek Library ($3.5 million): This project involves the interior renovation of approximately 38,000 square feet of the sixth floor of Alkek Library to add staff offices and study spaces.
