Austin-area school district salaries: Who earned the most in 2025-26?

Community Impact compiled compensation for superintendents, teachers, and staff at 15 public school districts in the Austin area to compare trends across the metro as budgeting season wraps up for most districts.

According to 2025-26 school-year data from the Texas Education Agency, Lake Travis ISD had the highest-paid superintendent at $483,116, while Pflugerville ISD had the highest average teacher pay at $69,917.

Some context: The highest student enrollments for the 2025-26 school year were:

  • Austin ISD

  • Round Rock ISD

  • Leander ISD

The lowest student enrollments were:

  • Eanes ISD

  • San Marcos ISD

  • Dripping Springs ISD

New 65,000-square-foot Austin music venue finds name

AEG Presents announced new details about its 65,000-square-foot live music venue, including a naming rights deal with United Heritage Credit Union to call the venue United Heritage Hall, according to a news release. The venue is slated to open in spring 2027 in East Austin.

Learn more: The project will anchor River Park, a 109-acre mixed-use community in Riverside—detailed as a “vibrant, walkable district that brings new music, culture and entertainment” to the east side, according to the release. River Park, from developer Presidium, will bring 10 million square feet of residential, commercial and open space.
