Bravo Physio & Wellness helps performers recover, thrive in Frisco

From serving dancers and student athletes to touring Broadway performers, Bravo Physio & Wellness aims to help active individuals recover from injuries and enhance their performance.

The history: Julia Buckelew, physical therapist and dance medicine specialist, founded the business in 2021 and opened a Frisco location in 2023. Bravo Physio & Wellness offers physical therapy and wellness services for performing artists, athletes and active individuals of all backgrounds.

What they offer: Buckelew said Bravo Physio has grown into a multidisciplinary wellness clinic offering physical therapy, massage therapy, nutrition coaching, personal training and pilates. Bravo Physio also uses DARI Motion technology, an eight-camera markerless system, to evaluate performance capacity and help prevent future injuries.

New public transportation available in Frisco's Rail District

Frisco launched its new transportation service for the Rail District. 

What you need to know: The vehicles are called the Rail District Boxcar, and the service is free, according to a city news release. The service is available within the rail district and has 13 stops stretching from World Cup Way to North County Road between Main and Elm streets. 

The two cars that can seat up to six operate 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Fridays, 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays and 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays.

North Texas Fair & Rodeo announces 2026 music lineup

The music lineup for the 98th annual North Texas Fair & Rodeo was announced June 16. The 10-day event will take place Aug. 21-30.

The details: Country act Diamond Rio will be one of the headliners during the fair. The band has been active since 1984, and their hits include "Meet in the Middle" and "How Your Love Makes Me Feel."

Other headlining acts include country artist Kody West, who is from North Texas, and country musician Chris Cagle.

There will be two stages set up each night: one will have the headlining acts and the other stage will have live music starting at 6 p.m.

What else? The fair is hosted by the nonprofit North Texas State Fair Association at the fairgrounds on Carroll Boulevard in Denton. All generated revenue is funneled directly back into local youth scholarships, agricultural programs and community facilities, according to its website.

The event has professional and youth rodeos, livestock and agricultural shows, carnival rides, food and beverage vendors. Tickets are now available on its website.

New bar, hospital renovations: Check out 5 major construction permits around DFW

Several construction projects are slated to start around Dallas-Fort Worth. The projects include renovations and new construction.

Check out five major construction permits filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation around the Metroplex.

1. Celestica main office and warehouse: Technology logistics and manufacturing company Celestica will finish out a 345,000-square-foot space in Richardson for its main office and warehouse, TDLR documents state. Celestica provides services for artificial intelligence computing and data storage, according to the company website. 

  • Location: 2801 Telecom Parkway, Richardson
  • Estimated timeline: July 31, 2026-Dec. 31, 2026
  • Estimated cost: $17 million

2. Kirby Ice House: Bar and patio Kirby Ice House is scheduled to start construction in Plano, TDLR documents state. The company offers more than 50 beers on tap and hosts food trucks and dog-friendly patios. Kirby Ice House operates four other locations, according to the company website.

  • Estimated timeline: Jan. 4, 2027-July 30, 2027
  • Estimated cost: $5 million
